ENoMW Submission: Review of EU Anti-Trafficking Directive
Since February 2023, the CEDAW Committee, a body of 23 independent experts that monitors the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, is working on the new General Recommendation N40 on Women’s Political Participation. This new General Recommendation will focus on CEDAW articles n7 and n8, which protect women’s political and civic righs.
We have submitted our comprehensive analysis to the European Commission on the obstacles faced by migrant women, as well as women in general, in political participation. Our comprehensive submission has been informed by the work of some of our members, as well as by our work on the Political Participation of Young Migrant Women.
