    • Apply to join us as a member, an intern or a volunteer, through the online forms on our website

We collect the following data: 

    • If you subscribe to our newsletter:  email address 

    • If you apply to join us as a member, an intern or a volunteer, email address and sex 

What ‘Special category’ personal data we collect? 

If you apply to join us as a member, an intern or a volunteer, information you provide us in relation to your application contains special category data, such as political or ethnic information. The lawful basis we rely on to process it is article 9(2)(d) of the GDPR, which relates to our legitimate activities as a not-for-profit body with a political aim processing your application.

How will we use your data? 

We collect your data so that we can: 

    • If you subscribe to our newsletter:   

      • Send out our news, occasional press releases, statements and announcements by mail 

    • If you apply to join us as a member:  

      • Process your application to join us as a member 

      • Administer your membership 

      • Send you the necessary information about your membership. 

    • If you apply to join us as an intern or a volunteer

      • Process your internship application 

      • Administer your internship or volunteering

      • Send you the necessary information related to your internship or volunteering

Sharing your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We only share your data with IT service providers used to execute the purposes set out above, such as email delivery and data storage. However, we do not permit IT service providers to use your data for any other purposes.

Opting out 

You can ask us to stop sending you the newsletter at any time by clicking unsubscribe on our newsletter mails or by contacting us by mail at any time. 

If you are a member, you can discontinue your membership any time by sending an email request to us. 

How do we store your data? 

We store your data according to the following rules:  

    • If you subscribe to our newsletter: we keep your email address until you unsubscribe from the newsletter  

    • If you apply to join us as a member and your application is not successful: we keep your information for one month after processing your application 

    • If you join us as a member and your application is successful: we keep your information for one year after the end of your membership for ordinary members, and for five years after the end of your membership if you served in our board or other executive structures

    • If you apply to join us as an intern or a volunteer and your application is not successful: we keep your information for one month after processing your application. 

    • If you join us as an intern or a volunteer and your application is successful: we keep your information for one year after you complete your internship/volunteering with us

Once these time periods have expired, we will delete your data. 

What are cookies?
