FORUM: COMBATTING STIGMATISATION OF MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON WOMEN AND GIRLS

We are really excited to start a new project, with the participation of three of our members (Akidwa in Ireland, Forum Femmes Mediterranean in France and La Fate Onlus in Italy), titled FORUM !

The aim of FORUM is to combat the stigmatisation of migrants and refugees, with special attention to the women's situation, through intercultural dialogues, raising the knowledge about the EU policies and promoting a democratic and civic participation, particularly within groups that are less involved in the UE policy making-process.

This project, coordinated by the university of Granada, responds to societal challenges such as rights access for migrant women or the refugees and migration crisis. Its key feature is to transfer proposals from citizens to EU policy makers in order to ensure a participative elaboration of the New EU Migration Pact as well as to provide a base research that connect with the aims of Europe for citizens Program 2021-2027

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF FORUM ARE:

- To foster intercultural dialogues and to collect proposals to advocate with European institutions

- To raise the knowledge about EU policies and values

- To promote solidarity, volunteering and active participation in order to create cohesion and to respond to societal challenges

- To strengthen civil society, local actors and organizations made up of, or engaged with, migrants and refugees.
