Submission to the European Commission on the EU Civil Society Strategy

The European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW) is proud to contribute to the European Commission’s consultation on the forthcoming EU Civil Society Strategy.

Our submission is grounded in EU law and international human rights standards, highlighting the urgent need for a concrete and enforceable framework that safeguards civic space, guarantees meaningful participation, and addresses the compounded discrimination faced by migrant and refugee women.

ENoMW identifies six priority areas for the Strategy:

  1. Equal Access to Decision-Making
  2. Sustainable and Accessible Funding
  3. Protection of Women Human Rights Defenders
  4. Safeguarding Civic Space for Women’s CSOs
  5. Equality and Non-Discrimination
  6. Monitoring and Accountability

We call on the Commission to adopt a Strategy that is ambitious, enforceable and transformative, recognising migrant-women-led organisations as indispensable actors in building a democratic, equal and resilient Europe.
