Submission to the Public Consultation on the Gender Equality Strategy 2026-2030

The European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW) has submitted a detailed contribution calling for a decisive shift from aspirational commitments to concrete implementation of the EU Gender Equality Strategy. Grounded in EU law and international human rights frameworks, the submission highlights the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and proper resourcing.

Across all eight principles of the Strategy, ENoMW outlines key actions to:

  • Combat all forms of male violence against women and girls, including prostitution, surrogacy, and online abuse
  • Advance women’s health and bodily autonomy, addressing barriers faced by migrant and refugee women
  • Ensure economic justice, recognising unpaid care work and protecting women in low-paid and informal sectors
  • Guarantee access to education for all girls, regardless of legal status
  • Promote safe and full political participation
  • Strengthen institutional mechanisms for real equality, including sex-disaggregated data collection and correct use of legal terminology

The submission reinforces that true progress demands a disaggregated approach to the lived realities of women and girls most at risk of violence and discrimination.
