The European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW), a coalition of 33 member organisations working on the ground with migrant women in 16 EU Member States, jointly with the Women’s Platform for Action International (WoPAI) and the Swedish Women’s Lobby (SKO) fully welcomes the timely and powerful report titled “Sex-based violence against women and girls: new frontiers and emerging issues” by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and Girls, its causes and consequences, Ms. Reem Alsalem. We also welcome the addendum report on consent which raises critical issues pertaining to the use of the concept of consent that arose in the context of Special Rapporteur writing her report on sex-based violence.
