Who we are
European Network of Migrant Women is a young migrant-women led platform of NGOs that works, in the spirit of intersectional feminism, for the rights of migrant women in Europe.
The network membership ranges from grass-root service providers to NGOs focused on advocacy and research. ENoMW members cover a diverse range of subjects in the area of human rights of migrant & refugee women, with economic empowerment, anti-discrimination & access to justice and combatting Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG), being the most frequent activities.
Why we are here
We are here because we have to. If migrant women themselves do not advocate for their rights – no one will. This is why in August 2012 our network was formalised, with a registered office in Brussels. Since then we have been strengthening our political presence and our membership. We ran one long-term project, funded by EPIM, focused on the economic empowerment of migrant women and expansion of the network. In 2016 we completed another project, #WomensVoices, coordinated by the European Women’s Lobby and the Women’s Refugee Commission, that mapped protection risks of refugee women arriving in Europe.
